This is what Michael Carrick had to say at the pre Bristol City media conference. Of note, is his reply to the question about Chuba and his contract:
So. What of Haydn Hackney, Chuba, Ryan Giles, Massimo Luongo?
Haydn Hackney - "I loved seeing him play". "No fuss" - hes stepped in and played like he`s always played like that. For a young player with little experience "I`m delighted...really impressed". What a compliment from a man of Carricks stature and experience. Coincidentally, he was called up this week for the Scotland U21`s. What a season its turning out for young Haydn!
Chuba? "I`m pleased" for him. He works well off the ball for the team. And what of possible contract extension for Chuba? "We`ve talked already"! Thats comforting to know - clearly he sees a future for Chuba, but there is no confirmation yet.....
Massimo Luongo? "Hes training every day" - getting himself up to match fitness. Its clearly up to him to get himself in the frame if the opportunity arises.
Ryan Giles [on the Hull game]? He told him and the rest of the players "do what you`re good at and express yourselves".

We have a year option, even if he won't sign a new contract, he's not going for nothing.

Pre Wilder, Carrick has helped him on but it was wilder who got him to look like a proper player at the Boro.
