Chuba Contract Situation

I haven't been paying very close attention, but I seem to recall Chuba is out of contract pretty soon?

Given we have spent the past few years searching high and low for a 15-20 goal a year striker, we have fortunately stumbled across one, who hadn't looked like one before. His attitude since he returned after being treated pretty shabbily in the summer has been exemplary. My memory of him was someone who didn't really have much physicality, but has clearly worked on that and he looks a proper player. If MC is convinced I hope the question of his contract is being discussed fairly urgently behind the scenes.

Option of a one year extension, so we won't lose him for free this summer, and we're apparently negotiating a new contract.

More than worthy of a new contract. As interviews have shown, he wears his heart on his sleeve. Nowt wrong with that. He needs to feel love and wanted - and he has this in bucket loads. Boro is right for him and he is right for Boro

time to strike while the irons hot and he is enjoying it so much, but don't scrimp out on the wage or you may force his hand and have to spend way more to get this sort of player again.

I doubt we will activate the extension until just before its end of the season or we take away leverage from ourselves, unless he agrees something before that
