Chris Hughton till the end of the season…

To be completely honest, only a couple of options we’ve been linked with fill me with hope. Edwards is a massive no from me. The way in which he left Forest Green would have half this board in meltdown every time he would be linked with another team. O’Neil is a massive no. The 2 main linked managers fill me with no ambition unfortunately. Dyche is a no for me as well, horrendous style of play. Carlos Coberan, Michael Carrick or Anthony Barry for me, but I’d also consider an experienced intern manager till the end of the season.

Doesn't matter, loose a couple of games and the next one will be gone again.

The cycle will just keep rolling

Why do you think someone of Chris Houghton's standing would be willing to take on a job until the end of the season?

Wouldn't it be good to be seen as a good footballing side again under Wilder I thought we had that for a few games

The last thing we want is an "until the end of the season manager". That's the sort of thing you do with 10 games to go and fighting for relegation, not nearly an entire season. Appointing someone now allows them to establish themselves without the pressure of expecting promotion.

Wilder was almost perfect when he took over last season and if he could have spread the good results around more evenly we might have been in a better position near the end of the season with slightly lower expectations of promotion but a solid foundation for the following year. He probably did too well early on and set the bar too high.

Need to get recruitment right for whoever we bring in. Can't be doing the whole "promotion is a probability" and then shopping in the bargain bucket. Just needs to be aligned with expectations. Stop saying one thing and doing another. If they had said we're developing a team over a couple of years then more time could be given and expectations could be set accordingly.

Results were still shocking so he might have gone anyway mind.

His football is absolutely horrific. Ask any of the fans of his previous clubs, they've been over the moon to see the back of him.
Newcastle fans weren't, he did a superb job at a difficult time getting them promoted with 100 points.
He then took the players side in a bonus dispute with ashley, who promptly sacked him.
Newcastle were 11th in the premier league having just stuffed sunderland 5-1.
