I always find it interesting that Farage and his ilk - your Yaxley-Lennons, your Jenricks, your Rupert Lowes, etc - were far less vocal about the systematic abuse of aspiring young footballers by white football coaches, or the numerous child abuse scandals in the church. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

Have to say feel generally uneasy about politicising this issue whichever rosette you wear. Children are groomed and abused by men which needs to be rooted out and stopped. Yes many men of Pakistani origin have been jailed as have many white men and males of all ethnicities. Let's all focus on protection of these poor girls and leave the politics for other issues.

It would help if people started to be honest about it to begin with.
This is nothing about child grooming. The only reason they want another enquiry is to prove that its migrants and migrant descendants that are responsible. They are not interested in the white groomers, just ethnic ones.

I blame the media as much as anybody for politicising abuse cases.
Victoria Derbyshire yesterday suggesting to Jess Phillips that Labour only acted because Musk had made an issue of it.
Five Live today justifying Musk getting involved in U.K. politics because he is ‘the richest man in the world’.
The media promote cranks and nutters like Musk and Farage because it gives their industry something ridiculous to talk and debate endlessly about.
The victims and actually doing something about it are secondary to the political row that they seek to manufacture.
As said above it has a long running race theme against Labour with a bit of attempting to associate Starmer in his former legal role as responsible for any particularly evil criminal activity.
Politics is a cesspit but there is something really distasteful about these terrible crimes and any deliberate politicisation of it.

I'm not sure that they want another "enquiry" to prove that's it's "migrants".
The last report proved that the rape of the girls was by mainly British Pakistani men, in over 50 towns across the country.
The new call for an enquiry is to find out why it was allowed, when it appears that people in authority knew it was going on. Maybe hold these people accountable for their actions.
The Catholic church has some high profile leaders resign recently over historical cases. Maybe the same should happen here.

That's a bit of a distortion of the overall picture, where the vast majority of victims/perpetrators of CSA have some kind of family or social connection.

Politics just seems to be an endless stream of the opposition calling for 'an enquiry' into everything as a way of attacking the sitting government. A lot of the time these enquiries just seem like a massive gravy train for all involved, take so long that the people implicated have long since moved on (or in some cases passed away) and that the findings are no longer relevant or not acted upon completely (or again, take an eternity to be enacted). There must be a more efficient way to identify these systemic flaws that allow these extremely serious crimes to occur and make the changes to prevent them happening more quickly?
