Chelsea in talks to appoint Lampard till the end of the season

I was thinking this too.
Yes it might be too early for him but he's obviously well thought of as a coach at Villa and if you cut him open he'd bleed Chelsea blue. He'd also be an instant hit with the fans.
He’s not at Villa anymore and has no interest in being a manager anymore.

Really? When did that happen?
I always thought he'd make a great manager. Passionate about the game. Performed at the very top of the game throughout his career. Countless caps for England, trophies for Chelsea and heartbreaking moments for Chelsea too. The perfect mixture of attributes and experience.

I wonder whether Lampard sees it as a no-lose situation. Puts pressure on the owners if he somehow manages to get them into the top 4 or wins the champions league. He might as well take it if offered the job. He's got nothing else on and nothing to lose really.
Chelsea could win their last 9 league games and they still wouldn't finish top 4. They've probably got to win at least 7 out of 9 to have any chance of qualifying for any European competition via the league.

It's Champions League or bust for Lampard. It would be funny/poetic if he did win it after he was denied the chance to do so when Tuchel replaced him 2 years ago.

I suppose it's a great opportunity for Lampard to redeem his reputation without any pressure of long term outcomes.

If he gets a decent run of results in the last few games, it might make him more appealing to other clubs again.

It’s an ok move. Somebody who can do that and also push off the moment Enrique is appointed.

Listening to 5live on the way to the match yesterday and I think it was Dion Dublin said that Frank Lampard was due to be in Madrid next week with him for BT sport as a pundit for Chelsea Champions League game.
He'll still be going to Spain, but this time in the dugout!

Heard a little rumour Chelsea are considering appointing Mick McCarthy as manager, 7 year contract with Lampard as his assistant.

Could be a load of rubbish though.

wilder will have his application in
Which is fair enough. I mean Watford have clearly let him down on the recruitment front by not anticipating they'd appoint him and bringing in a left footed centre back in January*

*Although he can of course play loads of different systems.
