Chelsea Allocation and Price

There were loads of gaps in the stand with the Newcastle fans in.

Firstly did they sell 4,000? and secondly could they have had more.

I'd expect to us to sell 4,000 @ £38

We sold 2.200 for a mid week game at QPR in Feb 2022.

I think we'll sell out if the tickets go on sale before the 1st leg is played. A lot of people will **** it off after the first leg game.

They usually do like the playoffs, 1st time i remember us being at home in 1st leg since Man Utd game in 1992 which ended 0-0

They got 4300 I think. I can't imagine Newcastle would have turned down an opportunity for more, so I don't understand why Chelsea would leave so many seats empty (unless they are copying MFC 😉).

NB - the top tier looked half empty in the Newcastle end and there was quite a lot of segregation in one end of the lower tier. Chelsea areas were full though. 38,058 crowd in 41,000 stadium.

Sandcastle fans have been spoilt with Champions League away games this season.

I remember in 2005/6? we played a L/C quarter final at home to Blackburn with only 2 stands open. UEFA Cup was more attractive and a drain on time and money.

It's mid week in January with Kids back at school. I think you have a decent chance mate .
If we lose 2 or 3 nil in first leg I can imagine a few putting " ticket for Sale" posts up for 2nd Leg lol

Hey - the last time we did this, Chelsea at home 1st leg then away………
We turned them over against the odds

The Battle of Stamford Bridge. UTB

This game is good practice for when we finish 6th and get Leeds in the play offs.

The Coventry first leg, we never really went for it.

We need realistically a 2-0 lead going into the second leg.

Chelsea away support is strange, they can be right up there with travelling support amongst big clubs but for some reason they have never come to our ground in numbers, don't know why that is but I'm not expecting more than 2500 to travel. I base that on the playoff game, 1200, the opening game at the Riverside about 400-500 came, it was a Saturday 3pm KO, and even back in the day when they had 1000's of lads follow then they only had about 1400 come on a holiday period bank holiday( 3pm) when they were top of the league and looking like they would go up.
And even the recent 6th Rd FA Cup where they only sold about 400 before they were told not to sell anymore, that is still only 400 on sale for two days to their top bracket point holders , the other big 3 London Clubs would have sold out.

They just don't come to the Boro.
