Charlie Wyke - Get well soon.

Someone has wrote an article on this and statistically there is no spike at all its just things are monitored and reported more. Seen a few anti vax post on facebook about this but has been debunked. Footballers generally have lower vaccine uptake than the general poulation. It is a similar situation when a few years ago it seemed loads of famous people were dying, its just turned out it was just a change in the way people were judged to be famous and the way deaths were reported.
This is a little look into where the vaccine / sportsman scare stories are coming from….

Get well soon charlie.

Get well soon Charlie.

Carl Ikeme is trying to ask the question. Trevor Sinclair also raised it the other day on talkSPORT and was was quickly shut down. I don’t know if it’s linked to Covid, the vaccine or something else entirely, but it is happening far too often and it won’t be long until someone else tragic happens.

Unfortunately stuff like the two examples you posted are only going to fuel the fire.

In saying that I hope Wyke, Fleck and Aguero all feel much better soon although I've read rumours that some believe Aguero is seriously contemplating retirement now because of his illness and the Messi factor.

The piece I read was in The Athletic, I'll dig it out and post it, it seemed pretty sure there was a spike.

Edit: I'll create a new thread, rather than derailing this one any more.

Let's hope for a speedy recovery fir Charlie Wyke.

Thanks for sharing that. I have seen countless comments saying exactly the same thing about the numbers and being ‘FIFA players/coaches’, it almost seemed like they were coming from, err, bots.

I’ve seen this link thrown about as well https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_association_footballers_who_died_while_playing

I looked into all of the players from June 1 2021 onwards and they were either 50 odd year old blokes, young lads under 18 playing very very low level football and also too young to have had the vaccine at the time, one of them died because of a collision on the pitch.

Absolutely clutching at straws.

Just to put the link to bed in his case at least - Wyke has confirmed he has not had the vaccine.

Hope they find out what the cause was and that he can get any treatment he needs (if needed) to firstly allow him to make a full recovery and secondly the option to continue his career when fit and healthy.

Statistically it is not happening anymore than normal. Things like this have always happened. They are just monitored more and reported differently. There is also a section of people out there with certain agendas at the moment.
Isn’t there just…

Wishing Charlie a speedy recovery 👍

The anti-vax angle.......Foe in 2003 and Muamba in 2011, pretty sure they hadn't had their Covid vaccine? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Foe and Muamba were 8 years apart. There has been at least 3 this week - Fleck, Wyke and Traore.

As said above, whether or not any of these are Covid or vaccine related I don’t know, but something is not right and a few ex-professional footballers are starting to ask the question. Is it going to take someone dying on the pitch before it’s taken seriously?

There may be something in it, there may not be. We simply do not know one way or another. Vaxed. Not vaxed. Had Covid. Not had Covid. Underlying conditions......🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
But players have collapsed on the pitch prior to Covid......but this doesn't suit the rabid anti-vaxers narrative. I'm all for discussion etc, but find it absolutely impossible with 99.99999% of these knobbers.

Wyke has confirmed he wasn't vaccinated.

Traore plays for a club in a breakaway region of Moldova, the poorest county in Europe, where only 35% are fully vaccinated, I would not be shocked if he was unvaccinated too (not saying they've collapsed because they're unvaccinated)
Even if he was vaccinated, Transnistria is a Russian satellite state and would surely be using the Russian vaccine that would have a different impact to the vaccines used in this country.

No idea on Fleck, but if it's 1/3 vaccinated then it's unlikely to be Covid vaccine related.

Christian Eriksen wasn't vaccinated when he collapsed either.
