Channel Migrants

Operation save big dog day 2. I feel we are going to get daily right wing populist policy announcements for a good while yet. BBC yesterday migrants today wonder what it will be tomorrow, the EU? benefit cheats? Islam? Terrorists? Fishing?

Just like we saw Boris in the hospitals with his sleeves rolled up, and on a police raid with his stab vest on, I expect an incoming picture of him on the bow of a Frigate as he sends those pesky Johnny foreigners back to where they came from, in a terrible attempt to fool us of his Nelson-esque leadership qualities.

Thank god I've left.

I'm sure they are well 'made up' with this as they struggle to man ships as it is (also actual working ships is an issue).

Then again we've lost the fishery protection contract so may as well get some use out of the OPVs.

I can't wait to see sailors 'dripping' all over my Facebook etc. 'life in a blue one' ⚓😂

Well with the BBC gone who else will do the Marxist indoctrination, they haven't thought this through have they!

If you think the BBC use "Marxist indoctrination" you need to go back to school. The BBC lets this Government get away with murder(quite literally) through not asking the right questions, holding them to account or quite often ignoring news stories that should be making the headlines.

Whilst these evil Tories continue to pump out the lie that the pathetic PM apologised to parliament when in actual fact he said sorry for how it looked but I done nothing wrong….

Then: Battle of Trafalgar, Battle of the Nile, Battle of Jutland, Battle of the River Plate, sinking of the Bismarck.

Now: Battle of Dover.

Will probably turn out as well as the sinking of Hood and Repulse.

A lot of comments I see from ex colleagues would suggest they’d be happy ‘having a crack’ at the refugees… I’m sure some think we don’t go far enough if we’re not machine gunning them out the water… 🤦🏼‍♂️

Depressing. Whilst most sane people on here think the policy is madness there are more than enough people who are thick enough to believe this is right and proper. 😞

Oh god mine ain't that bad. To be fair most of mine are on the OPVs (formally fishery protection squadron) and will almost certainly be tasked for this.

We still have plenty of Batch 1s left so may as well utilise them. They would be more suited than the border force vessels as they can stay at sea longer and better equipment (well maybe😂).

Although the optics and the soundbites for me are horrible, I think it's actually quite clever, if underhanded by the government. Everyone is going to be happy with this, just for different reasons.

Tory supporters will be happy that the military are involved and there will be fewer people (theoretically) coming ashore independently. The media will drift away from the coast once they've done a couple of trips onboard HMS Pacify Racists picking people up.

Refugee charities and the RNLI will be happy that more people are getting ashore safely (again theoretically) and their asylum can be processed straight away.

The French will be happy as they know that they won't have to patrol as much and can sell it to their public that they've persuaded us to share the load more.
