Chances of going to tenerife in August?

But you have think of what Tenerife you will be landing as this is a global pandemic So just like us thousands have died over there so why would anyone travel now is beyond me esp for a holiday.

I’m supposed to be going to Spain golfing at the end of July and looking likely at the minute we’ll go.

Spain seems pretty much back to normal, bar wearing masks and social distancing. The issue I think will be whether they will let Brits into Spain, as there’s a good chance we’ll still be in the thick of it due to our lax lockdown and controls.

more a problem when you return as you will hacve to isolate
Not a problem for me, but could be for others.

Unfortunately the legislation has a load of exemptions, which will be exploited the same as the lockdown rules, and will also be nowhere near as effective as they should have been.

At the moment Spain is accepting Brits that go through a 14 day quarantine. This might be lifted on July 1st if infection rates seriously drop in the UK. At 5600 UK daily infection rates are still high.

If people fly out in late July they are likely to be using quite busy airports and near full planes. I can't see much difference from attending a game at the Riverside. There is also a chance of a second wave by August.

Quarantine will be lifted from 1st July for EU nationals but not at the moment for Brits. I’m fairly certain that will change in one way or another.

We’re getting back to some semblance of normal now - beaches, bars, restaurants and shops are open with distancing, and infection and death rates are very low and reducing - as of last Thursday there were only 26 corona patients in hospital in the whole of Andalucía and no reported deaths in Malaga province for 4 days

Wow - 26 hospital CV19 patients in a region of 8.4 million!

South Tees probably has that in a region of 412,000

It shows the UK was too slack under lock down and too slow to lock down.

Spain was a slow but not as slow as the UK.

The Canary Islands have moved to the next level of lockdown release from the mainland so so quarantine no longer applies. Three deaths total in Tenerif, one in Lanzarote. Restaurants and bars are open outdoors, no-one sits indoors in the summer anyway.

lots of reporting in the ST today that BJ has told Grant Shapps to get air corridors open to the EU by 28th June, this will nullify the quarantine on return. August booking will be fine, I now expect to get to Lanzarote early July, and for sixty quid a flight it’s worth a punt (y)(y)
