Sheff Wed v Plymouth

Revitalised Sheff Wed could get themselves out the bottom 3 for what seem like forever. I can see Sheff Wed staying up. HOME WIN

Sunderland v Leicester

Seems an obvious away win. Leicester will top the rot at some point after 3 defeats on the bounce. Automatic promotion doesn't look so guaranteed right now with Leeds and Ipswich breathing down their necks. AWAY WIN

Blackburn v Millwall

Blackburn struggling as badly as we are where as Millwall have won their last 2 matches. DRAW

Leeds v Stoke

Leeds will make Stoke look as bad as they are. HOME WIN

Hull v Birmingham

Hull in strong form and got a couple of tough matches coming up. Will want to get the 3 points tonight. HOME WIN

Coventry v Rotherham

Coventry to bounce back after two losses. HOME WIN

Ipswich v Bristol City

Ipswich are the form team and back in control of the promotion race. HOME WIN

I have lost interest lately after Boro have virtually opted out of the promotion by poor play, poor tactics and opting to play without bothering to obtain a decent striker. If we are to get out of this ridiculous situation then we need to play our way out of it , rather than hope other teams will help us.

There are really people who like being in the so called Championship for all its excitement and cut and thrust. Well, they have got their wish. Boro will have another season in the second tier, if we are lucky.

Plymouth Argyle boss wary of ‘technically excellent’ Sheffield Wednesday – singles out star

Plymouth Argyle manager, Ian Foster, says that his side are well aware of the strengths that Sheffield Wednesday have ahead of tonight’s game.

The Owls play host to the Pilgrims at Hillsborough this evening in what has become a big game for both sides. Wednesday can close the gap between them to two points with a win, while defeat would open it up to eight.

Both sides came up from League One together last season after a highly-competitive campaign – though neither has the same manager that managed to achieve promotion – and will be desperate to make sure that it wasn’t done in vain.

Plymouth only have three wins in their last 13, two of which came on the road, and Foster is adamant that they won’t be looking at Wednesday’s league position and taking them lightly. He also had a word or two on Iké Ugbo.

Speaking to the club’s official website he said, “I think, if you look at the manager, since he came in the team would be 11th in the division… They have won four of the last five, so we're not going to Sheffield Wednesday thinking, ‘Oh, we can take a breather now, because we're not playing a team who are in the play-offs’. We certainly won't have that mentality. We know how difficult the game will be.

“Every game in this division is difficult. Who'd have guessed that teams in the bottom six would have gone and got some of the results they did? That's just the nature of the league. It's really, really competitive. They’ve got good players, particularly in central areas, and are a slightly different team this year from the team that won promotion through the play-offs.

“They are technically excellent. If you allow them time and space, they've got the ability to punish you - they've got a striker bang in form. It's important that we are aware of his strengths and but aware of the strengths of the players who supply him as well. Sometimes you’ve got to stop danger at its source.

Millwall travel to Blackburn Rovers in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Lions head for Ewood Park with back-to-back victories under their belt and will now hope for a second straight success on the road following three points at Southampton last time out.

Shaun Hutchinson and Kevin Nisbet continue to work their way back from injury and will miss the visit to Lancashire, whilst they will be joined by Tom Bradshaw, who sat out Saturday's win against Watford through injury. That trio aside, Neil Harris has a squad to select from which includes the likes of Joe Bryan, Casper De Norre, Ryan Longman and Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who all stepped off the bench at The Den.

Preview: Leeds United vs Stoke City

Whites face the Potters on Tuesday night.

Leeds United face Stoke City on Tuesday evening, returning to home turf in the Sky Bet Championship (19:45).
The Whites face the Potters under the lights of Elland Road, aiming to extend their unbeaten run at Elland Road in the 2023/24 campaign, which currently stands at 17 matches.

Stoke arrive in West Yorkshire having won just four out of 17 on the road, but they come with confidence, having defeat the Whites on their home ground earlier in the season.

At the weekend, Leeds had to fight from behind against local rivals Huddersfield Town. After going behind in the first half, Patrick Bamford stepped up in the second 45 minutes to equalise.

Tuesday’s visitors got a big three points on Saturday, which were much needed in the battle at the opposite end of the table. Goals from Bae Jun-Ho and Lewis Baker secured a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.

That win over Boro means Steven Schumacher’s side have won two out of their last eight matches, but will be looking to use the confidence from the weekend to extend that run.

The bottom end of the table is congested, and Schumacher’s side could move as high as 16th with a victory on Tuesday, depending on results elsewhere.

Daniel Farke’s side are in a fight of their own, at the opposite end of the table. Following the results over the weekend, the Whites are now in third spot, two points behind Ipswich Town in second and five points from Leicester City in first.

If Leeds can return to winning ways, again depending on results elsewhere, there is the possibility to move back into the top two positions.

Could do with every team below us losing, or at least dropping points if they play each other, then we're one game closer to safety and genuinely having no pressure.

City travel to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town in search of three points after a disappointing defeat to Cardiff City over the weekend.

This is the first of two fixtures this week for Liam Manning and his side as they welcome Swansea City to BS3 on Sunday.

High-flying Ipswich Town will be aiming to continue their unbeaten run and close the gap between them and league leaders Leicester City.

OUR OPPONENTS: Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town currently sit second in the league table having taken the campaign by storm on their return to the Sky Bet Championship.

The Tractor Boys will be looking to claim their sixth consecutive win, having not dropped a point since the beginning of February in their 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion.

Kiernan McKenna’s side have no trouble finding the back on the net and have netted 15 times in their last five fixtures.

Ipswich’s last home defeat came against Maidstone in the FA Cup at the end of January, but before then against Fulham in the Carabao Cup at the beginning of November.

Having only lost once at home in league action this season, their home record is only bettered by Leeds United.

I'm a Leeds supporter tonight🤮

Really do with every team below us losing. Blackburn v Millwall? Not sure.

I've no confidence whatsoever of us winning either of our two games this week. So definitely looking at teams below us.

I've got my own issues with tonight's fixtures. I have a 'job on' at Coventry Arena Tesco tonight. No idea what time to go in as start at 2000. Footy traffic will be a mare.

An encounter with Sunderland awaits on Tuesday evening, with Leicester travelling to the Stadium of Light for a 7:45pm GMT kick-off. Ahead of facing the North East outfit, Maresca spoke about the growing need to return to their best in the coming games, as pressure grows at the top of the division.

‘In this moment, we struggle’

Four of the bottom half teams on 38 points.
If Owls win and the rest stand still, that will be five [5]!

Agent Fox# tells me they are bricking it at Sunlun in case they lose this one.

Leicester have got the same number of points as us out the last 12 [3] and are 19th in the Form table!

Come on, you Foxes.
