Champions League

Europa league is better.
Watched Galatasaray v Sparta Prague last Thursday that was a cracker.

Think I have watched about 3 finals and a handful of games since it moved to BT.

Didn’t even know there where champions league games tonight

I had just finished saying "no búgger is going to score tonight" when the Porto lad pulled that out of the bag.
Overall it was a terrible game for the neutral.

Agree the Europa league seems to have more interesting games these days. Saw some of inter v A.Madrid last night and it was dull as dishwater.

Only ever watch the finals now ever since the competion has been on BT/TNT sports that I don't have never watched it. Liked it when it was on sky or Itv

Cracking goal from Porto in injury time

Agree to an extent ... but after watching the analysis after the match and listening to the commentary, I think I might be the only person who thinks there is a bit of blame on the keepers positioning.

I think he is slightly caught out, and essentially lobbed! when the ball crosses the line its about mid height of the goal. I think he is too far off his line for when a player has the ball at the corner of the box.

Dont worry - I'll always find a negative in a good thing! 😂

Scrapping away goals was a terrible idea, only done because big clubs kept getting knocked out and they started to kick up a fuss.

It added so much drama to each game.

Could get beat 3-1 away but that late consolation goal suddenly made it feel like they had a real chance in the second leg.

I don't have TNT, so I can only watch them in the pub, and Boro matches often clash with the best ones and there's obviously only one winner there.

I was thinking exactly that watching that awful game last night.

No incentive in the first leg, except not to get hammered.

I'm very glad Arsenal conceded in the end, as they never got out of second gear all game.

I was there last night, incredible stadium and great atmosphere. Arsenal looked well out of sorts, Saka in particular really struggled with his final delivery.

Pepe was, and is, absolute class even at the ripe old age of 40. I've seen him twice live now and both times he's been the best player on the pitch.

First time seeing Rice in the flesh too, really impressed with his reading of the game. Seems to pop up all over the park and whenever Arsenal get into a spot of both in possession, he appears to sort it out. Great player.

Away goals are good and bad. They do cause defensive behaviour at times but then the beauty of away goals is that it's win or lose, no draw. Imagine the Basel and Steau matches if we had just equalised and then been happy to take it to extra time and penalties. The boom/bust nature of no draw makes the ending exciting.

agree with above posts - i really really wish they the away goals rule was kept it, made it a lot more entertaining- and generally a lot more attack minded games
