Carrick

If we finish as badly as we started this season then it’s gonna be interesting to see if he still has the motivation to give it another go next season. I hope he does. But he does need to start learning from some mistakes.

I'd have even been happy for Silvera to have started today, if it meant that Forss could have played up front.

Then we could have had Greenwood on the left, Azaz as a 10 and Hackney in midfield.

Not sure if he will be here next season. Don't think the cubs ambitions match his.
If he goes to a bigger club he’ll be sacked by Christmas. He’s definitely a good manager and excellent man manager but he’s miles off being good enough for a premier league side, he makes a lot of mistakes with his tactics when it really matters and sometimes makes decision that are just bizarre

I’m a big Carrick fan, but I don’t understand why people think he will be off, we are languishing in mid table and last season had a multi million pound loan players to get us up the league, there are far more managers in this league doing a better job than carrick as it stands

Exactly this, I really don’t understand why people think he’s some sort of genius. He’s got a lot of potential and is clearly already better than his counterparts of the England era (Lampard Rooney Gerrard etc) but he’s not a premier league manager yet, not by a long way

I really like Carrick and I think that's part of the reason I'm getting so annoyed. I'm disappointed in how he's performed the last month.

I will keep the faith with Carrick because I do believe he's been let down with recruitment and I think he's a good manager. But he needs to do better with his selections. He's made some very obvious errors recently.

He's got two tough away games and I feel pressure could really mount for him over the next week.

How can a club with a much vaunted recruitment team continue to put a team on the pitch without a recognised CF*

At one stage we had three loan players in the pitch from teams within the same division as us.

Not a great selection of players available to Carrick today. But he chose Hackney to play where he did and not start McGree. That’s on him. Also Barlaser was having a very poor day, but didn’t take him off. Maybe man management and looking after the individual but the team was not good enough today in any department

* I only count Lath and Coburn and they are both consistently injured and inconsistent in performance when fit.

I love Carrick and I have sympathy with the fact he’s lost a load of firepower in the final 3rd.

However, I was disappointed with his game management today.

He should have made at least 2 subs at half time. Our best player was sat on the bench (McGree) yet didn’t come on until the 65th minute.

Barlaser stunk the place out yet managed to stay on for the full duration of the game.

We should have been bolder at half time. Sometimes I feel Carrick is just too nice with some players.

He got it wrong today, but he wasn’t too stubborn to ignore it after 25 mins.

Admittedly, we were 2-0 down by then though 😂
