Carrick coached that today

Look over any of my previous posts. I don't have a problem with our recruitment.

Doesn't mean we shouldn't also be backing him this summer coming.

Should be in a good position. We needed a lot in last summer. Should be able to focus a bit more on proven quality over quantity now we have good squad depth.
That we do Festa!

Barlaser and Howson developing an understanding now. Thought they were both outstanding yesterday and ran the game. Surprised how poor West Brom seemed, there’s really no reason why we can’t finish above them and Hull. Leeds at Wembley in May? 😉

Yeah, agree with that, will be interesting to see if Crooks plays deeper on Tuesday if Barlaser is out.
I've been hoping to see Crooks as a midfielder (proper one, not the role he's been playing lately) in a Carrick team for a while.

Fingers crossed.

I think getting Barlaser to drop deep in between the two centre backs to start attacks for us has been a master stroke from Carrick… rather than relying on Fry or McNair / VDB to try and pick a pass into the midfield to get us going, which often led to problems of our own making!

You can see why the top teams pay big money for genuine ball playing CBs
Barlaser played some really excellent balls from the centre back position yesterday. And while it wasn't needed yesterday, I guess it means if we do concede possession we do have three players in defensive positions rather than two which can only be beneficial.

Magic Mike? I think it's already been done Roofie...

Stop putting disturbing Carrick thoughts in my head

Over many years I've seen teams come here and pass us off the pitch. "Why can't we play like that?" would be the thought. Against West Brom, without many first choice players, we totally did! We were fluid and exciting and deserved to win by more. If that was the result of Carrick's tactical plan he played a masterstroke with forward players interchanging at will.

Great team performance. I find that when the players around him are playing well in a game Jones plays well too and vice versa. Still very raw imo.

Carrick just continues to show what a class act he is. Certainly been tested this season, having to turn round and shocking run of results and then handle a ridiculous injury crisis. Keeps passing these tests.

Going to be a top top manager. Never panics, never blames others.

More than one of our previous managers in recent seasons would've written this season off a long time ago. "nothing I can do, players aren't good enough, recruitment not good enough, injuries have made it impossible" etc.

He's put quite a few older, more experienced, managers to shame with how he's handled everything.

If we don't go up this year, he needs backing properly in the summer. He'll get us up.
Did anyone watch the Dave brailsford interview on Sky with nasser Hussain ?

He talked about being a good leader and how Steve peters (psychiatrist) helped identify what were ;
Winning behaviours. And
Losing behaviours

Losing behaviours; moaning. Affects the team and leaders must confront their team members to turn losing behaviours into winning behaviours like, instead of moaning we turn it towards, how can I give or what can I give the team right now to at least contribute somehow.

This is what Carrick is doing….fantastic 👍👍👍
