Carrick, but only with Phelan & Meulensteen!

If it is Carrick, I do hope he brings in his guys with him, Muelensteen (sp??) and Phelan, that is a lot of coaching experience at a high level with some elite players of a good period of time. If we want him to come in and work with others then it would discourage me, and I would expect him to turn down the offer on that basis. With the West Brom job now becoming available, wonder if that explains the lack of further news.

Footy insider seem to think it is at a stage almost done from what I read and they are usually on the money, aren't they?? As I say though, Carrick has a reputation to build .. just getting us to survive the drop would be a great achievement for his first season with us.

If he joins, that is, I hope he gets assurance he has a bit more say in the players he wants in too, and his connections will help re; loans and whatnot no doubt.

He needs that experience around him, taking on this job is brave given it would be his first real job as a first-team coach or whatever the hell we want to call the next guy. Got to give him credit for that if he does take it on, he has his work cut out for certain.

Good luck to the man if he takes it, I will back him. Huge risk, but with the mess we're in now, I just want to move on from Wilder. Sick of reading about names, all of which have hardly been inspiring, And we really need a huge lift!

I would not be surprised though if MC saw the game at the weekend and is having second thoughts .. that is what concerns me. :ROFLMAO:

Next 24 hours I am sure things will be a lot more clearer ... I hope to God we get it right this time around and Wilder's replacement is here for some time, has success, and brings some of our good youth through,
