Carlisle reduce capacity to 9,999

yeah, on reflection probably sensible, just looks a bit cynical. They’ve got Rochdale at home on Boxing Day, would have traditionally been a big turnout.

Because you can't spread covid if there's less than 10,000 crowd?
Irresponsible
It's a numbers game now. Nothing to do with whether COVID can spread between 4 people or 4000 its just trying to manage the spread and reduce the peak (if we get one) of hospitalisations.

How big, I don't know. The recently got 7.5k for the Cumbrian derby vs Barrow.

If gates stay below 10k, they don't have to put measures in place: that's what the restrictions say. I suppose if there is a possibility of it going above 10k, they have to assume that it will, and put appropriate measures in place.

They've removed that possibility. They're not avoiding plan B rules; they're ensuring they adhere to them.

IF they were getting crowds of 8500-9500, I'd think it was a bit cynical. As they're getting 3-4k, I think it's fairly trivial, but removes the possibility of their accidentally breaking the rule.

Good on them

Even though they don’t get 10k anyway, it’s a symbolic gesture against tyranny and control

👍👍👍👍
I think it's actually about cost control and ensuring they never need to spend any money on extra resources to check status. But you feel free to wave that flag around and make yourself look daft.
