Car Hire

Do you know anyone with a second car to loan you. Cost us around £40 insurance to put my Son In Law on for 10 days.
 
Unfortunately it's the same the world over. The big car hire companies disposed of their fleets during the pandemic but now they can't replenish due to the worldwide semiconductor shortage.
 
I've always used Enterprise in Boro. They come and collect you, which is nice. Not had a car this leave though but have noticed it's very expensive compared to previously.
 
Last time I hired was about 6 years ago from transflex Stockton paid £90 a week for a focus

Certainly when hiring abroad through the larger companies the prices start coming down around 8 weeks before any date and are at their cheapest about 2 weeks before the dates you enter. Obviously you could run availability risks by leaving it late, but certainly booking early isn't the cheapest way to do it.
As said above the pandemic will have hit the prices
 
Don’t look at the main chain ones look at the independent smaller companies, will be a lot less

Practical car and van hire or do new place similar
