Cancelling a passport

Has anybody cancelled their passport after it going missing?
The Mrs lost hers during our house move. We cancelled it online the other day, and she got an email back saying it was being processed.
Just wondering how long it should take before she can reapply for a new one.

Yes, especially if you need it anytime soon. We applied for my 9 mo daughters passport 6 weeks or so ago and it's still in the "processing" stage.

A mate of mine had to fly out to Florida with his son, separately to his wife and daughter, as they still hadn't received his sons passport on the day the flight departed and had to wait for it to be delivered by courier in order to fly out the next day.
 
Ive lost mine too recently. Paid for it 3 years ago , about 70odd quid. Seems like ive got to pay another £70+ for replacement.alot for what essentially a piece of paper with a photo on it. . Surely if youve paid for one that has 10year expiry date on it they can do a replacement copywithin that time frame for much cheaper. If i lost my season card would boro ask me to buy it again, id hope theyd produce a new one without charge tbh.
