Can we go to Stokesley / Great Ayton etc for food or a drink?

Who on here is encouraging people to ignore the restrictions?

"avoid travelling to other parts of the UK, including for overnight stays other than where necessary"

Travelling to Great Ayton for the pubs and restaurants is stretching the definition of necessary.
Obviously there's no legal obligation not to travel to a Tier 2 area, and I'd guess that the trains to York will be very busy next month, but it's clearly against the spirit of the restrictions.

OK but you made a point that certain posters were doing both, and I can't see how that's true.

The vaccination part of my post was needless and antagonistic, I shouldn't have put it in, but you and RandySavage have been two of the most vocally sceptical about immediately getting the vaccine that I've seen on here.

But I've just read back through the posts and it was more defending people's rights not to get it than saying you won't get it, so I apologise.

Fair cop.

You got it twisted. I was merely explaining, like you said, why it's about choice.

It'll be a big shot in the arm for the economies of Stokesley etc. They'll be over the moon Teesside is in Tier 3 so everyone from there uses their pubs/ restaurants etc

And if you did it would be a very selfish act.
Why would it be a selfish act? You do realise that the reason Cornwall is doing great despite a massive influx of tourists during the summer is probably because they achieved immunity in sufficient numbers during the summer when it was safe to do so due to the seasonality of the actual illness. People just rarely get dangerous colds and flu’s in the summer time. If the whole country had been opened up without restriction during this time we would all out of this now. And SAGE knows this.

Which is why we are still in this position, government have created an absolute **** show which is mainly responsible but people also need to take some responsibility for this
" people also need to take some responsibility for this"

Like my next door neighbour who has just had 3 different mates dropped off at his house in different cars and then about an hour later all 4 of them got into a taxi that the'd called. Not a mask between them.

How many rules/guidance does that breach, do any of them give a toss?

It's exactly this sort of selfish behaviour which will see the restrictions prolonged. As a society we can only move as fast as the slowest person and some people are deliberately flouting the rules and regulations out of misplaced/misguided sense of entitlement which will cost us all, from both a health and economic perspective

Have you called the police?
