I spotted this on the wall of my daughters house.

I've put it through Google lens but it just brings up lots of pictures of bee hives that don't really resemble this.
It certainly looks like a bee but I don't know what the structure is underneath it.
Anyone know?

Email the museum of natural history in London as have a dept that will identify any creature via pictures drawing etc.

I went to a talk by them a few years ago.

I‘m not David Attenborough, but I’m pretty sure it’s a Vapourer Moth. Other Moths are available…

That is without a doubt the lesser spotted N'gigi Big Killer Death Bite Poison Death Nightmare Moth from Snake Island. It's the only Moth hard enough to live on with Snake Island and not be scared. People say if you look at it too long you'll see your own Death and that's why it's got Death in it's name twice. And it has big sharp pointy teeth. And instead of a mouth it has four ar£es

has anyone watched Braindead US political-scifi TV comedy with the wonderful Mary Elizabeth Winstead from Scott Pilgrim and Star Wars Ahsoka?
Not telling, just saying.
