Can anyone explain why teesside isn’t in the lockdown area

Figures were dropping in Middlesbrough - council are out inspecting pubs this weekend if any found to be not complying with guidelines then they may be told to close.

From the FT.
"The government said it would announce tighter restrictions on people in the north-east of England on Thursday after a sharp rise in coronavirus cases. The measures are expected to include a ban on households meeting each other and a 10pm curfew for pubs and restaurants across an area with almost 2m residents."

Really? Not usually at 10pm unless a curfew is put in place. Just admit you got it wrong. Don’t dig a bigger hole

So you are upset you can’t get a pint after 10pm ? As you claim to be in a more vulnerable risk group as an asthmatic on another thread, you seem to have an odd attitude to personal risk and safety. Hmmm

I know the gazette had a few articles on it but after reading them I still can’t see any reason why we are not included.

Our rate is higher Than many of those areas included, we are on the list of Govt concern and yet we seem to be a special case.

the gist of the gazette article seemed to be the reason that we are not in lockdown is because....well we aren’t.

I am convinced the government are going to shut down all areas totally in stages.
It could be our turn next.
I believe by the end of November the country will be in lockdown again.
The government cannot risk a winter spike given people will naturally mingle, kiss, shake hands and party at christmas and new year.

So I think it must happen before then.

Hope I’m wrong like.
