Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Been an iffy week with the late goal v Watford and the disappointing end to an otherwise good transfer window.
What better opportunity to get the feel goods back than the Makems at home?
It’s set up perfectly to get everyone back onside and marching forwards together!
Can’t wait!
Season proper starts now! UTFB!

I hope the players aren't as nervous as we all seem to be. No reason why we shouldn't be beating a newly promoted team under the lights. It really could kick start our season!

To most of our players and coaches it will be just another game. Should be a great atmosphere.

I'd probably be almost as nervous if we were playing Rotherham right now, it's just a defeat would hurt more in this case because of who it is.

Put our moans and gripes aside , get fully behind the team and batter the Makems with noise from the stands .
I will be doing my bit from the front row of the South stand .

We're playing Sunderland FFS.
They are rubbish and have always been rubbish.
They've won here twice in the last 25 league meetings.
I am NEVER nervous playing them. It is routine.

They'll make a bit of noise, just like we do up there.
The difference is we've won up there 9 times and lost just 11 in the last 25 league matches there.

They are not a club we should EVER feel nervous of playing.

Can't wait. Early goal to shut them up hopefully. Still miffed at it being on a Monday night though.

Agree about that. I was talking to a Sunderland fan at work recently and saying how odd it is that both our clubs had 10 year stints in the premier league and yet they didn't seem to have anything like the calibre of players we did during their turn. Juninho, Boksic, Viduka, Hasselbaink, Yak, Mendieta, Southgate... vs???... Kenwyne Jones? What a waste.

They're off again 😅🤣

The 'Derby' that's not a derby that they don't care about. The same everytime for the last 20 years.

Yet all they do is go on about it 😂

I'm sure plenty will be on here if they beat us. 'Don't care' enough yet go on another clubs forum lol.

I don't really get why some are so keen to deny it as one, it always has been.
Newcastle being a much bigger game for them doesn't stop that.

If we play Hartlepool, that's a derby too, despite the fact that very few Boro fans feel any hostility towards them, I'm sure plenty of Hartlepool fans would feel it towards Boro.

Barnsley v Leeds is a derby, it doesn't matter that Leeds fans won't really care about Barnsley.
Celtic v Partick Thistle is a derby.

One side caring less doesn't prevent it being a derby.

As much as they pretend they don’t care, they really really do.

You'd think they'd want to embrace the rivalry. I find it bizarre. Love games vs themselves, Newcastle and Leeds.

They say it can't be a derby because the week before playing Newcastle they're a bag of nerves, and don't get that feeling before playing us. Yeah, neither do we but to try and say it's just like any other game is daft.
