camping on the stray redcar

im coming across to redcar for blam blam fever at the weekend .we are booked at a camp site but its other side of marske and im a bit concerned about getting back there late at night early morning .
whats the score with pitching a tent on the expanse of grassland anyone know the crack ?

If you are at New Marske you can literally walk down the bank at get a train to Redcar from Long Beck. Maybe 7 minutes walk down the bank. ?
Coming back should be easy enough getting a taxi to new marske. It’s only 3 mile.
New Marske I wouldn’t bother with the Yorkshire Lass, be better off walking down to the Mermaid or there’s a new boozer on Longbeck called Talking Tides or something good pint in there ( and that 😉)

Travellers camp there for weeks on end, if they can surely you can? I live in Redcar and have no issue with either.

The chances of somebody from Redcar and Cleveland Council moving you on are close to zero.

Somebody works and harm are you doing?

You will fine

I'm surprised there isn't a campsite for this event in Redcar - Can I also ask what campsite you are staying at?
That would need help from the Council and they provide zero assistance to the people like Mark Simpson who put on the event. They never have in all the time its been running. Especially as it a charity event to raise money for Redcar RNLI .

As mentioned you should get a taxi if you have to stay at Marske. You might have to wait a bit as it will be busier than usual but go to one of the pubs open until late and have a beer while you wait. You can usually get a brilliant pint of Magnet in the Pig & Whistle up until about midnight but don't leave it until last minute or she won't serve you.

And why doesn’t that surprise me.

R & C are totally shot sited when it comes to attracting people to the area.
