Calling Mr Gibson….Carrick is done

I absolutely don’t want him gone. We’re not learning from our mistakes, and there are glaring weaknesses in our team and squad. But I still don’t want him gone.

We’re stuck with these players now, like it or not. A new manager (even if we had one in mind and could get him quickly) isn’t going to suddenly improve things in a short space of time.

Getting harder to defend him though.

It's just a painful watch..... We now look like a team of misfits.... Which is unacceptable on many levels. We are so easy to play against. We are awful playing out from the back - particularly with Edmundson...... Both full backs repeatedly caught out of position and midfield just pulled from pillar to post..... Gaps all over...... Teams play through us........ There is never any change. There is no sign of any change and we're selling our best player!
FFS
I've generally defended Carrick but I think he needs to walk now!

If it’s not his fault then it’s the players fault. They make the same mistakes week in week out. Every post match Carrick says we need to learn the lesssons. That must mean they don’t listen to him. So he has to go!
It certainly IS his fault, he picks the players and coaches them to play in the way we do, he puts a spineless team out with no leaders or organisers and allows players to play 70 mins while making no effort to do the hard yards and track back.

Tbf we never signed a RB and have no midfield despite having months so this is on Scott more than anything. We signed yet more forwarsa what's the point

He`ll be here till we can`t make the playoffs

That`ll be the minimum remit from Gibson

For what it`s worth I think we will make the playoffs.......just.

Carrick can do half the job. We're almost play off competitive in goals. Unfortunately neither he nor Woodgate have the first idea how to organise a defence.
3 (that's THREE) wins in 13 games is surely an interview with only one end.
But Kieron Scott has had two years to find a strong defensive midfielder and a no-nonsense back four and he's spectatularly failed.

WILL Someone post his after match reaction to really put the boot in we played really well with our high line & deserved something from the game.

"Michael Carrick not concerned by Middlesbrough form." (N.Echo).

He must be in a select group of about three. That's his resignation speech right there.
His attacking team manged four shots on target whilst Sunderland managed nine. And that's not counting Giles Worldie.

Why did you pick shots on target?

Nonsense comments. He’s looked totally lost to me the last few months post match.

He needs help, in only the third year of a really tough job, he’s struggling

It's what he says every time we go through bad form, copy and paste interviews

We are not going on any run. This team is not consistent enough to go on a run and when we get in to games against teams battling for points at the end of the season we will be found wanting. Teams like West Brom, Norwich and Coventry are the teams looking more likely to go on a run. I believe this will be Carrick’s last in charge, much as it saddens me to say it. His brand of football has been a joy to watch at times but the team is too soft and we give too many sloppy goals away. We haven’t addressed key areas and lessons don’t seem to be learnt, he has to be part of that problem. I believe we will miss out on the play offs and Gibson will decide it’s time for a change. I don’t want him sacked now but think the inevitable conclusion will be reached at the end of season.
