"But they're all the same!"

"provides advice on extremism, social cohesion and apprenticeships/vocational training."

Now thats the kind of trough snouting I approve of......

hmm, down here in Kent we have the porn watcher Damian Green. He is paid by Abellio......abellio own South eastern rail.....who of course won the contract for Damian's constituency

My mistake. Yes, he should go, along with all the others. It's corruption, regardless of rosette colour.
Seconded. As I stated the other day this shouldn't be about right/left socialsim v capitalism or whatever labels you want. it's about being a decent human being
The link does list a Labour MP though

Khalid Mahmood, Birmingham Perry Barr (Labour)

  • Consultant to thinktank Policy Exchange earning £25,000 a year for up to 180 hours. He provides advice on extremism, social cohesion and apprenticeships/vocational training.
Ah, I didn't spot him and saw the maths of the OP.sorry

At the minute none of those mp's have been proven to have misbehaved and are in line with parliamentary requirements.

Having an outside financial interest isn't, of itself, corrupt. Lobbying on behalf of those companies is.

If the proposed change goes ahead they will have to quit their outside financial interests.

How can they represent their constituencies full time if they have so many part time jobs. And the only way they get those jobs is because they are MP's.
I don't disagree, but under current parliamentary guidelines they are allowed external financial interests. I don't think they should but the ones that are, are not breaking any rules by doing so.

There's a few MPs from all parties who continued to work as Doctors - Does this count as well?
"Deputy Labour leadership hopeful Rosena Allin-Khan is an Accident and Emergency doctor, who regularly does shifts at London hospitals."
"Conservative MP Caroline Johnson is also a pediatrician at Peterborough City Hospital and has been working during the outbreak"
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-51975661
It would be even harder to say some jobs are allowed and some others aren't.

It's dead easy.

If you hold a professional qualification and you need to do a minimum number of hours in a certain field (Dr etc) to maintain that professional qualification then you can do that.

I'd go further and ban MPs from being able to own any property other than their own home and one other property.

How can we trust them to fix the housing crisis whilst they have their snouts in the trough as landlords.

This has really wound me up - It's ridiculous money for the 'hours / days' stated in the article.. these MPs should be ashamed, especially when a lot of the country is going through hard times

I wonder if Mere Plantations realise they are giving £12k per year to an idiot.
Well he tried to earn his crust for the Forestation company In the form of lobbying for lower taxation.

Capitalism/Institutionalism: “When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”

That's what Dr Paul Williams did when he was MP for Stockton South.

If he didn't put some hours in all if that hard work and experience would have gone to waste.

Despite his profession being absolutely vital it still didn't stop criticism from local Tories.
