So if Kompany is going to use his contacts to get Belgium league players, I wouldn't be too worried. Vossen was absolutely top class in Belgium and yes he had a few moments in the championship but wasn't top drawer. It's a fairly weak league.

True but you may say for every Jelle Vossen there may be a Philip Albert or Marouane Fellaini. We signed Alfonso Alves from Holland - doesn’t mean all Dutch signings to the PL are poor.

I would say the fact that the two Belgium players you referenced were brought to England approximately 25 and 15 years ago would suggest it is not necessarily the most prolific hunting ground
