Britt NEW CONTRACT !

They're not 22m forwards though, are they?

Top scorer this century, give him a new contract.
It's what we paid for both. We won't get it back in any shape means or form.

The question is can we trust the recruitment teams or Neil to identify a player as good or better on less wages. I have heard he's on anything from 30k to 40k a week. If true he will get offered roughly half. I doubt he'd accept.

It's the very reason we lost 4-5 players in the summer. I don't mind Britt and despite some criticism he's actually a pretty decent scoring record in a side that don't score goals.

It would be interesting to see him in a free flowing side that creates 5-6 chances a match (like Leeds did for Bamford). He's a poacher who's added a bit more to to his game under Warnock (you can't slate his graft).

You want more goals from Britt then he needs more balls on the shoulder like Morsy provided. No point the keeper banging it forward.

I have no doubt he will have plenty of clubs after him in June. I doubt they will pay anything like we do. He may have a decision to make. I imagine Warnock may look at a couple of areas he could improve with that wage.

Then again he could cost 5-6 Mil to replace and the bloke may not be as good. Therefore you'd be better off spending it on his wages.

Assombolonga and Fletcher together have cost well over £5.5m per season in amortisation.
Wages combined another £3-4m per season (offset a little by Fletcher's loan at Sunderland).
They've been very expensive and poor return.
They could be sold at any price in Jan to generate funds, but I don't think anybody will buy them then.
I don't think we would sell before the end of the season with such a thin squad and possibly promising league position

Starting from scratch in June, I am absolutely sure Warnock could recruit 2 better for half that combined cost per season. If he chose to sign up those 2 again I would be stunned.
All IMHO.

Still a lot of games to be played this season, and I'm hopeful after scoring midweek it may just kickstart his season. Play to his strengths and he will score goals at this level, and hopefully Warnock will be the manager to finally get the best out of him.

If he can have a good season I'd be happy for him to be offered a new contract (on reduced wages) but if he moves on then fair enough.

If they look at the current market rate they 'may' sign on reduced terms
