Next Friday evening the British cycling will be in town doing a lap of the high street and the Esplanade and going up the road where the lifeboat is stationed Moore Street. I will go down to check it out but questions firsts. The race is described as 55min plus 5 laps and I'm having a senior moment and I can't work out how that works. After 55 mins the group will be well spread out and some may have been lapped already so how can they measure each person doing exacltly 5 laps extra from the point they are ? I'm confused :(

Electronic Bike tags I’d imagine 🤔
 
Yes, transponders fitted to every bike but also judges doing physical checks and noting the numbers of riders dropped from the bunch every lap. I'm not actually sure of the fine details though.
