For all that’s wrong with HS2, the archaeological side is fascinating. Similarly with Crossrail. Great programme about the archaeology digs for HS2 now on BBC2. Think it’s part 1 of 4.

Am unlucky in that I was supposed to be on a dig this week but it has clashed with the fanzine week. Won't be another opportunity this year. Very limited social distanced digging going on this summer. We did some on the moors in July.
But yes like Cross Rail this project gives a massive opportunity to record a slice through England's archaeology.

Also destroying important and ancient woodland and the wildlife residing there just so even more money can be attracted to London
