I m already in Bristol for the match on Monday. Any recommendations? Anywhere to watch the match on Friday? And what pubs are best on match day? Will go ans suss them out😀

Dosnt look like much choice on the pub front any suggestions for monday? Dont like the news on the road front m4/m5 junction😳

Im going in early and I am going to make a day of it on the Bank holiday in Bristol, I expect a lot of places to be heaving which is normal for Briz anyway.
Close to Temple Meads (around 100 metres) you have a spoons pub which while bog standard gives you a inexpensive start to a possible long day https://www.jdwetherspoon.com/pubs/all-pubs/england/bristol/the-knights-templar-bristol

You have the harbour side which if you are walking from the train station( a long walk) is on the way to Ashton Gate, lots of pubs on the waterside and tourist attractions to get the crowds in https://visitbristol.co.uk/your-visit/areas/harbourside, The times I have been here it seems to attract a lot of Boro.

I have seen this pub mentioned on several away day vlogs and is in the football away day ground guides sites . The Orchard The Orchard Inn
https://maps.app.goo.gl/RYVSpqEE5LMCBtaQ9 it's a 20 minute walk to the ground

The football away ground guide give this for Ashton Gate https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/championship/ashton-gate-bristol-city.html lots of good info and different suggestions from away fans with pubs which might be of use for the way various Boro fans are coming into Bristol.

One last place, a tap room which is if it is open and takes away fans then I might try close to KO because it's a 4-5 minute walk to the ground. Bristol Beer Factory - Tap Room
I have tried messaging them a few days ago to see if they are open and accept away fans, just some automated response so far, saying thank you for contacting us.

While I can't guarantee this in an age of post pandemic decreased services, there used to be buses outside of the ground after the match ( next to the park) taking you back to the center and the train station.

2300 Boro at Bristol on Monday ( Middlesbrough twitter) not bad despite the later KO on TV. Another "if' moment but I suspect if we had won at Huddersfield then we be talking about at least 3000 on Monday.

To confirm there are lots of pubs on the quays in the harbour. But the best ones seem to be in Kings St with lots of tables outside. My favorite not far from there is the Drawbrige next to the Old Vic theatre. Much bigger inside than it appears on the outside good beer and Sky.

No idea what they are like on match days but the ground is still a good distance from there so I can’t see them being to restrictive on away fans

Drawbridge was always a regular haunt for me whenever I was in Bristol. It was a very friendly, chatty place. I never saw grief in there, no matter how much was drunk. (Nor how many)

Maybe this one will go on my drinktinary from the train station https://www.kingstreetbrewhouse.co.uk/ it's in the away fans football ground guide link I posted but it looks quite cool. Yes the Tobacco factory keeps getting mentioned and it's near the ground so it could be one for later.
I be in Bristol for 10ish so I expect to see South West Mackems on my train with them heading to Cardiff Im going semi kit ****** so might have some early bants with the paedo chanters.
