Brexit , the negatives

Don't be silly now. Honestly: why do you think brexit is a good idea?

Just give me something. Rather than a deflection or a personal insult, why not try and defend brexit with a fact? Unless you want an endless argument you have pretty much two options: TRY and defend brexit using a fact or admit you're wrong to defend it. To help, it doesn't have to address the issue raised by this thread, it can be anything.

Human history shows that. People with power want more and the same with money. There'll be a select group of people who used their resources to creative a narrative and then pushed it for years until lots of people believed it.

One of the greatest ironies (and disgraces) is the people worst effected by ideological Tory austerity ended up voting Brexit believing the EU was their enemy.
Look at Phillip green , made 1.9 billion profit one year, obviously wasn't enough as he put it in the wife's name to avoid tax. Money hording is a mental illness

Please point me in the direction of a personnel argunent
You have personally called me stupid, thick, idiot, bigot, wishing I didn't exsist & when confronted by another poster who ticked you off for saying the latter, you replied, I can't abide people like hi

And I've been personnel 😔

I wouldn't stoop myself to talk to people like that on a message board, or anywhere,
You're being completely disingenuous Erimus.

The title of the thread is Brexit , the negatives.

You've had an opportunity to counter some very well thought out positions in this thread yet your only contribution has been to trivialise the subject matter when you would have known full well what the discussion would be about before you even opened the thread.

If you want to discuss wildlife and birds why don't you create another thread?

Yeah this is the issue I have with Erimus. He's proven he can't defend brexit yet he still wants to derail a thread about it. I wish some people could just admit their mistakes.

No. Its a constant process and it is currently damaging our country badly. Hence there being being so many bad news stories about it. Sorry mate but this is something that won't go away just by ignoring it.

I don't think that's going to happen Bear.
If Brexits already happened it hasn't affected me one little bit...
That sounds like the cry of your average brexiter. You need to understand that it will. Do you shop for food? Do you travel to Europe? Are you employed in the UK? If you answer yes to any of these, I've got bad news for you. Brexit is going to negatively affect you. Ignorance won't save you from economic collapse. The usual brexit cry of "I'm alright, Jack" will sound as hollow and selfish as it is when produce from the EU disappears from our shelves, unemployment rises and the cost of living goes up and the quality of life goes down.

I actually voted to remain Small-town as I didn't think that sort of decision should be left to the public who generally (like most) don't know enough about the implications of leaving. That's what MP's are for.
BUT like I said it hasn't affected me at all, prices haven't increased in the shops I can still travel overseas ? Yeah there is some extra hassle for some industries but you are going to get that with a new system and it's going to be ironed out over the next 12 months...so like I say it's had no affect on me or anyone I know...

You're persisting with a horribly selfish attitude which isn't a good look.

You do know how economies work don't you? When they get damaged you don't see the effects straight away, just a slow trickle down of lost produce and unemployment. Its staggeringly ignorant to suggest everything is fine because you haven't seen an effect yet. The full customs rules only came into effect 5 days ago and 3 of these days have been public holiday?

Please tell me you didn't expect an immediate reflection of

Calling me 'horribly selfish' is like a red rag to a bull. I'm telling you Brexit has had no effect on me so far.
You're the one who openly admits to voting Conservative in the last election..
I don't need to say any more do I...

You probably do need to say a lot more. To clarify: You make a horribly selfish comment "brexit hasn't affected me" you repeat it and then you say you're getting upset because I call you horribly selfish?

Can you not even see why I would call you that? You are repeating your "I'm alrght Jack" line whilst being seemingly oblivious to all the negative stories about Brexit. Including the ones on this very thread

Brexin not seen that anywhere before you should try and get the trademark on that Bear66. Money to be made on it.
I don't think it's logically correct but who worries about details when there's a message to get across.

You're trying to 'send messages' to me and brainwash me with your subliminal BrexIN narrative....Oh the joyful irony 🔥

What amazes me (and I suppose fascinates me to some extent) is how so many people have what is commonly called black and white opinions, coming from both viewpoints on the EU membership question. One side is 100% correct and the other side 100% wrong. Some people then aggressively defend their position against those that disagree with a sort of territorial gusto. So anyone who disagrees it appears in any form at all is their enemy. This obviously provokes a counter reaction. Some appear to revel in the conflict pf opinionsand in a way want diasgreement and provoke it.

Such scenarios have existed before, usually in war time. A classic one for me was Stalin and Trotsky. Both Bolsheviks, but Stalin exiled Trotsky and then had him killed in Mexico. In Ireland the IRA killed Michael Collins who had done alot to get the British out of what is now the Republic of Ireland. Really he was one of their own, but they must have hated him alot to to kill him for agreeing to the creation of Northern Ireland and the Irish Free State. BREXIT is not as extreme hopefuly no one will kill anyone, but I pick up vibes that there is a form of hatred with a lot of talk about them and us.

Most Remainers say the EU was not perfect but we were in the right place to influence change. We now have no say but our trade relies on the EU to make good decisions on our behalf.

Too much hate is directed at members of the public who, in good faith and for all sorts of spurious reasons, voted leave. The criticism should be directed towards the liers, fantasists and chancers - BloJo, Farage, Vote Leave, The Press etc who orchestrated it.

100% This. it's ridiculous to state there are 100% people on both sides. The EU is clunky and makes mistakes, such as the vaccine roll out. However, overall, to isolate ourselves form our major trading partner. Especially on grounds of immigration. Is a ridiculous thing. no matter how flawed the organisation is.
