I want to share this video because I think it sums up where we are quite well, but I really hope it won‘t descend into the usual fights about Brexit, because that’s not the purpose of it.
What’s done is done and if people voted that way, whether it was right or wrong, they don’t deserve to be attacked for exercising their right to vote whichever way they wanted. Those who lied and misrepresented the benefits are the ones who should be attacked, the JRMs, Goves, Cummings etc, rather than those who were perhaps a little naive and taken in by the promise of a better future. Plenty of good people on here have come out and acknowledged that they now believe they made a mistake in voting the way they did, and I admire them for that.
Anyway, I’d hope that some Brexit voters will watch this ad and it will maybe chime with them. The lesson to be learned, in my opinion, is to look a bit harder at the people (or newspapers) that are selling an idea to you, and think about whether you can trust them, if they are going against everything the majority of real experts are saying.
This is made with a bit of dark humour although the fundamental message is an extremely serious one
