Braithwaite to Barcelona

Don’t see it happening as there’s a few on the list but he’s one of their targets as they have permission to sign a striker due to long term injuries of Suarez and Dembele.
Horrible way to go about things really, Leganés will be certain to go down if they lose him and he’ll barely kick a ball for Barça much like Boateng last year.

Stuani would be ideal but it’s not possible, signed a new Girona contract in the summer that should see him just about to retirement, they should of signed him last year when they had a chance instead of Boateng. Braithwaite has a release clause of around 20million which I assume is how they’d get him.

Ah I see. Bit disappointing for him as a few months playing for Barca before he heads back to Uruguay might have been nice!

I highly doubt it'll come off because there's much better options than him in La Liga such as Willian Jose at Real Sociedad, Aspas at Celta or Rodrigo at Valencia. Although I wouldn't be totally surprised if they get him as there seems no logic to much of the madness going on at the club these days.

It's fine saying they have other options but how hard is it to find someone who will sell you a player when they can't get a replacement? Unless they overpay massively most of those options are unlikely as the clubs won't want to leave themselves short.

I'd see the funny side if Messi left in the summer and Braithsnake somehow found himself as his replacement. We'd have to admit he made the right decision to leave, wouldn't we?

Most strikers in La Liga have a buyout clause, pair that with Barça having no morals and anyone’s an option.

I know they do but is it allowed? I honestly don't know but I would have thought the transfer could be rejected in this instance as they have to give approval and they might find it unfair. So for a buyout they will say OK fine you can buy him but we won't allow him to be registered so then they'd have to reach agreement with the club which then brings you back to which club will sell you a player when they can't sign a replacement without you massively overpaying.

The other point is that the buyout clause is usually a fair bit higher than what most would consider to be market value.
