Boro v Blackpool -18th September 2021

So many new players to settle in but 16th in the Championship is nowhere near good enough for us, absolutely nowhere near.

I agree with Maddo. The balance is way off. We’re so weak at the back and wide open in the middle but not exactly Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle going forwards, not sure what we’re trying to do.

Not all bad news though. I actually think a good manager would do well with this team, we’ve got some good players.

Tbh… I’m shell shocked how that ended… they were absolutely dog turd first half and never looked like scoring.. and we just imploded second half… warnoks fault? Player apathy? Ref was certainly poor… I just can’t believe it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Neil Warnock who recently got
Cardiff promoted?
Then he got sacked. He has a very limited life span at any club, because he gets found out for his tactical naivety and once the players start to lose respect for him it's irretrievable. People bang on about how many promotions he has had, they don't talk about how many sackings he has had, and that he has only had 1 promotion in a decade. He's yesterdays man, the game has moved on from him. He got lucky with a big championship budget at Cardiff, and some Warnock ball players, but that doesn't mean he can replicate that these days.

Complete lack of heart and movement all game, even 1-0 up we didn’t even try to fight for the ball back all over the pitch. We have some good players but we are nowhere near being a good team.

This is the polar opposite of a warnock team at the moment! If the club wants to go in this direction they need a manager who will set them up the right way.
I saw effort, effort isn't the issue, playing with their heads, playing to a repeatable pattern of play, utilising the strengths we have, that's the issue. Sporar has been here a week and he has seen it already, frustrated at the lack of bravery in getting on the ball playing football to bring the ball out and move opposition footballers around. This is park football tactics, not what is needed in the top 6 leagues in europe.

I’m not sure I can blame warnock.. we looked good first half and their goal was a result of bad reffing and everyone loosing their heads….

second goal was just a kick in the balls..

we can't blame warnock for the goals we conceded, but we can ask why we can't get on the ball, play possession, tire the opposition out, stifle a team, create opportunity as a team, get good quality balls forward to a decent striker.

We did play good balls through… we looked dangerous quite a few times… tav looked hungry and sporaz looked dangerous… crooks tried too much gamesmanship and siliki flattered to deceive but I think he will come come good…

Payero looked good when he came on too. On another day we'd have been out of sight by the time they scored, we just need to take our chances.

Yes I just heard the interview with Warnock.
He said second half we were ok until Dijksteel got injured
I thought the warning signs were there well before he went off:unsure:

Maybe it's a sign of our weak squad and current injuries but I was surprised a change wasn't made earlier.
They were clearly getting into the game and cutting through our weak midfield.
Disappointing as in most matches one of Warnock's strengths has been his experience in 'reading' a game and make changes when necessary.

Recently (same as at Coventry) it felt like it was only a matter of time before the opponent's pressure would lead to us conceding.

I don't really agree, I felt like we were fairly comfortable before Dijksteel went off. We'd just had a decent chance down the other end before the injury as well.
