Boro v Barnsley

Disappointed to be honest.
Could be wrong but I think we threw this one away because the team wants to focus on going up.
Or perhaps more honestly staying up.
I understand that should still be the main priority.
But I just don't see us going anywhere this season.
So I hoped we may have some exciting cup games instead.
Early days. Let's see how it goes.
It may still be good 😬

Looking forward to your spin after Bournemouth Nobby. Our 1st 11 is good enough to finish around 12th at best as the squad stands. I think Warwick is putting a brave face on recruitment, a bit like Pulis had to do too tbf to him. Gibson won't spend like he used to. Its his club his choice, but do not take fans for granted. The cuts and his new personal life seem to mirror each other..... just saying like. He can and will do whats best for him. I would too in his shoes tbf. Promotion is a far off land and covid rules apply to attempts to visit it. We are in self isolation
I really don't know what I'm spinning Coluka.
Posters on here are reacting in the usual kneejerk bedwetting manner after a defeat. I'm trying to give some perspective on things. We played a reserve side where most of the players hadn't played a competitive game for ages, some having been out on loan and others making debuts.
People seem gobsmacked that we didn't play like Barcelona.
Altogether now Warnock out, Bauser out, Gibson out, Woodgate out, Downing Out, Greening out.

HEARD IT ALL BEFORE...

If you're trying to provide perspective then calling people names like bedwetters isn't helping.

As previously pointed out that team was full of first team players.

Thats just knee jerk sillyness you accuse others of IMHO.

You keep kidding yourself :ROFLMAO:
Bettinelli is the new first choice keeper.

Coulson played regularly last season and would be expected to be a regular first team player.

Dijksteel has been a first team player under NW.

Fry expected to be a first team player.

Morsy bought for the first team.

Wing has played lots for the first team.

Tavernier - first team.

Browne - reserve.

Fletcher - first team.

Well I think fans are more discerning. Nobody is calling those men out as yet.

Waste of time to try and hold meaningful dialogue with Nobby. In his world - nothing to be worried about. Anyone with the slightest semblance sees a continuation of poor form. No goals in the last 2 games whilst not a complete crisis is really more of the same from the last 2 seasons.

Without 4-5 new players coming in a season of strife and struggle ensues.

Lol I.liked the 'our first team would.of won' clearly hasn't watched our first team in the last few years.

Was was the first team score vs Barnsley last season anyone?

If you've read Jepson's comment after the game, they were basically using this as a run-out. With the silly money and huge squads in PL now, the Caribou is totally devalued for the smaller teams.

Watched last night's match, was really impressed with Barnsley and think they will finish quite a bit higher than 21st this season.

As for Boro we need a stable back three and quick. Won a few individual battles last night but our organisation was terrible when they were playing it on the ground in our defensive third. I actually thought Morsy looked decent, pretty composed on the ball and worked very hard off it, ideally need someone with his composure and awareness further up the field.

Neither wing back impressed although they are probably the back up WBs at present. Coulson cutting inside just led to him getting crowded out every time. Still think Tav lacks intelligence in attacking positions and I'll reserve judgement on Brown.

In hindsight, 4-3-3 may have worked better last night, Coulson wide left, Tav on the right. Barnsley hunted in packs and I think that way we may have opened up more space in their defensive third.
