Boro shirt Auction

I would have thought there would have been a grant or something to cover it. Shame really.
If you notice it wasn't bought by the National Football Museum or any institution - historic football shirts will have an international market - the seller will have realised this. I guess the time for Boro to have bought was over a decade ago when there wasn't perhaps so much auction interest.
It is a real shame that it has gone away from public view and you would thought also left the area. Could it have left the country? The buyer could remain a mystery of course.

I thought that boro had bought it.. that's why it was there in the first place. Surely someone must have asked about how much they wanted to sell it for before it went to auction!

Would be nice to see a version of that as a change or 3rd shirt in the future, be a great way to commemorate our past and celebrate our heritage, maybe for our 150 year anniversary in 2026.
That would be excellent ....... as long as it was a decent quality, ideally cotton, shirt not the polyester man made 5hite that the replica kits are now

A lot of the stuff in the cases at Boro is on loan from fans and family of players.

The replica shirt for the Foundation is good quality. Not sure whether it is still available this season or not as it was a special order - I think I remember Tosh Warwick helping make the link to the company involved.

Lots of 1986 badges popping up in the club shop.. could it be.. that we are going to see sense?

I think we’ve jumped the gun this season.. the grandad collar and retro green shirt would have been perfect for the 2024/25 season!
