Boro Projects

I think a decent fee needs to be involved.
Plus a bit of the 'unknown' about them.

eg, Wing out due to fee
Someone like a Vardy would be 'in' here as he cost a £million

Djksteele and Bola come very close.
BUT they did have a bit of an EFL career behind them

Mmmm, taking some work/thinking this. Not expecting to work this hard on a weekend.

Based on those rules.... surely Akpom is also out

Barlaser comes close to the list.
But again, already playing well in the EFL when we signed him.
But he scores points for being thrust to early into the first team.
Suppose he is on a similar level to a Tomlin.

Pretty sure Hoyte had played a good 20-30 games for Arsenal before signing for us too, so he's out?

Rules are still being formulated - this is a 'work in progress'
Very easy to get distracted by a 'Euwell' or something like that.
He was the original 'Minister without portfolio' - the day he signed is the day I stopped trying to work out Boro's starting formation.

Moreno
Hoyte
Emnes
Wildschut
De Penna
Traore (not proven when we got him)
Payero
Akpom
Hoppe
Gilbert
Morgan
Silvera
Latte Lath

Good to see most of our gambles have been on front men.
Notoriously difficult to find.

We have never ever ever had a problem finding centre halves

Viktor Fischer. Hot prospect in Europe but injury knocked his form, felt like it could have gone either way.

Most projects are just signings really though, aren't they? Unless their going in the u21's or from lower league it's almost offensive to call a pro a project

I don't understand these rules if you're excluding Bola and Dijksteel for a few seasons in the lower leagues but including players who've played at a higher level before signing for us 😂

Traore had two full seasons in the Spanish second division, which is better than one full season in the English third division.

It gets easier to find players when you spend big money.... Huth £9 million. Woodgate £9 million. Flint £8 million (ouch).

You could easily confuse this list with random signings for peanuts when we didnt have a pot to pi$$ in?

A project has to be someone of upto a certain age with relatively little experience elsewhere im guessing?

Maximilian Hass
Tarmo Kink
Emmanuel Ledesma
Andy Halliday
Curtis Main
Jayson Leutwiler
Christian Burgess
James Husband
Yanic Wildschut
Tomas Mejias
Julien De Sart
Anfernee Dijksteel
Barc Bola
Marcus Browne
Dejan Stojanovic
Sam Folarin

Ha ha. Just been in shower. Ran back to my laptop to talk about 'Tarmo Kink'!
Great minds think alike. But I think the fee was too low to qualify - we were going through a period of signing just about anybody back then.
If you include him then you'd have to include that tiny scottish bloke with a baldy head.....ermm, scored one great goal......

What about that big USA striker who now plays for Timberland Raiders......was he a loan though?

Can't include Barry Robson.... He'd played over 400 games before joining us, 40-50 for Celtic.

You can include Andy Halliday though.
