Boro move to Digital Ticketing šŸŽŸļø

So fans paying for the new money saving system for the club. Thank goodness we arenā€™t in the middle of a cost of living crisis with rampant inflation. What was the booking fee before Ā£1.50? Only a 66% increase if so, bargain.

Sorry, I was being facetious and making a joke, they've "only" increased it from Ā£1 to Ā£1.50 this season.

To be fair, this probably will help people.

I've always got my phone on me, but we've got to the stadium before realising we'd forgotten our season cards before, this would prevent that being an issue.

Dont forget your phone and keep it charged then. šŸ˜‰

It be perfect for away matches, save me Ā£15 quid getting a taxi from Temple Meads to Ashton Gate to get a replacement ticket .

Nothing on the page?

I hope this is something they are doing - itā€™s surprising how much smoother it is to scan your phone rather than dealing with getting the card or piece of paper to scan on the existing machines.

a) it's not surprising how much slower it is getting through a barrier when you have people ahead fiddling with their smartphones,

b) what about people who don't have a smartphone?

c) has this been to the supporters' forum?

The booking fees for any event are a total rip off.

I recently bought 8 race tickets. For one transaction I was charged Ā£30.72, works out at Ā£3.84 per ticket.

For a recent weekend event, Ā£12.50 per ticket.

Ricky Gervais this week for 2 tickets;

Service Fee Ā£11.06
Facility Fee Ā£5.50
Order Processing Fee Ā£2.95

Thats another 20% on top of the ticket prices.

I just don't get how these events justify it.

Just say no

I had a look at the prices of Taylor Swift concerts when they went on sale. There was the flat fee, which was a ridiculous price, but then there was a booking fee, service charge, and another charge on top of that. Its got ridiculous.

They won't be getting rid of physical tickets and season cards.

Fair enough if true, but that's not what I saw. It said that we would be moving to digital ticketing with your Season Cass (sic) being added to your 'phone and this would all be phased in, and that was it. Then they removed it.

Will if be just as easy to transfer your ticket to someone else? ie is the digital season card one option and the physical card the other? So if I canā€™t make it my Dad can go instead but just take the card?

It's probably the direction of travel for the world in the long term, but there's absolutely no chance of that happening right now.

It would be a logistical disaster for any club to go fully digital 3 weeks before a season starts with no build-up or warning.

It will just be offered as an alternative to using your physical card.

Not sure how it can be slower, a ticket code via Apple wallet takes seconds to access. Itā€™s a far easier and secure way than having to post out tickets, queue for collection etc.
