Theres the england team in boro kits knocking about from a training session in probably hutton road. I cant locate it just now. More who was wearing it not the strip mind.

Also in the eighties on replicas the shorts had back pockets. We werent that good at the time so it wasnt for centre forwards. Dunno what that was all about. The datsun cleveland era. Adidas

Frank Spraggon: Boro’s second strip was all white before the blue and black stripes came in in 1969. Nobody was concerned about the shorts or socks being the same colour as the opposition’s in those days.

Souness in the white: that shirt looks just like a bog standard polo shirt with the badge embroidered on.

Souness in the red: I’m sure that was taken in 1972-73 when I think we used three shirts; red with round collar, red with red lapel collar and red with white lapel collar which he is wearing in this pic.

We did use 3 different shirts that season foggy, I've asked Rob to ask the question at the next meeting regarding introducing those shirts in the club shop

It's from the Villa v Boro match in 73-4. It was our only appearance on MOTD that season. John Craggs scored Boro's goal but it was a heavy deflection off Rioch. Rioch scored the equaliser.
