If Chelsea get their share off the FA then aren't the FA breaking the sanctions as the Goverment licence for Chelsea to carry on said

As this match is taking place after the sanction started it is surely classed as a future FA Cup game

Certainly should. I mean Chelseas 45% can't go to them. I guess it sits in our account until they are sold, unless Chelsea agree to forego it. But would that take Abramovich's approval, and would he give it. Massive pressure on Chelseas board to comply and do the same, which would then show a gesture to their fans that Ukraine is where the sympathy should be, not Abramovich

Lots of comments about virtue signalling on that Twitter thread sadly, though it does highlight the disparity of responses to other humanitarian disasters.
It is a great gesture, a great bit of PR for the club and hopefully it'll serve to inspire the team to victory.
