Boris Johnson: Conservative MPs divided over Partygate vote

Once again, like the Republicans in the US, they are worried about 'the base'.

It gets to some state when MPs can not tell the truth about how they feel as they worried for their jobs.

How much integrity do these people have?

But its not about Partygate its about whether he lied and mislead Parliament. The Party gate issue has already been addressed by the Sue Gray report.

What I find worrying is. If they think that Boris didnt lie and believed his view that he thought he wasnt breaking his own rules. Then he has to be guilty of incompetence.

Which is worse in their eyes ?

The true thicko Johnson supporters, as opposed to his gravy-train grifting enablers, are too dense to think logically enough to reach that conclusion. We are living in an idiocracy.

Johnson is like reputational kryptonite. Anyone that deigns to have any contact with him suffers damage. He's radioactive. He should definitely pair up with Farage.

I think a lot of them have also convinced themselves that it was alright for him to break the rules anyway because he was under a lot of pressure. Just a bit of cake wasn't it?

As opposed to, say, doctors and nurses or any other front line workers who found the pandemic all just a bit of a lark.

I don't think any MP's should be allowed to abstain from the vote*. A former PM and until he quit MP has been unanimously found guilty of pretty much bringing the whole of Parliament into disrepute and lowered the standards of what our so called democracy is meant to represent.

He should have been sacked and prevented from ever standing for office again, his 'honours' list should be ripped up and binned, he should be roundly condemned from all sides to send a clear message that this behaviour just isn't on, and that there are serious repercussions for those that do break the rules.

None of this has happened, the whole system stinks.

* I mean they should have to go on record in black and white stating "this is a disgrace and needs to be condemned'. Or, 'I think this is alright, he's done nothing wrong in my eyes'.

All those who think the latter should have to be interviewed by Harriet Harmon and the panel / committee and justify why they don't agree with their findings.

People should be made to stand and be accountable for throw away comments of support or 'fake news' / 'kangaroo court' statements.

It just isn't on.

All the MP's who also called the committee a Kangaroo Court should be censured too. Ideally excluded from Parliament for long enough to trigger a recall.
