Boris Johnson confirms if coronavirus certificates will be needed to enter pubs

pubs won't safely have the capacity for everyone anyone, patience is a virtue
I get what you're saying - but for many their whole experience of adult life has been lockdown, having to make their own fun etc.

I recognise the necessity for it all - but I'd like there to be some consideration for the young people who have made enormous sacrifices when they're the least likely to be affected.

They deserve something. Closing off pubs to them while the people they've protected enjoy them while saying patience is a virtue just doesn't sit well with me.

And because hospitality is the only one in the list that is not necessary.

Define necessary

Folks get accused of been selfish on here all the time but when those same people doing the accusing have had their vaccinations and want the pubs, restaurants and holidays all to themselves then that's somehow not selfish.

Watching family is of course necessary, but I dont see any proposal for vax passport for that. The others are essentially luxuries, it's a bit of a stretch to say they are necessary, they are pastimes IMO
You're right Artie, they are passtimes, but without them life just becomes a struggle and, in my opinion a little bit pointless. They are necessary for good mental health.

Well, it's obvious isn't it? Look, I'm actually more or less on your side on this one as you should remember from last year. I spend a lot of time in pubs when I can and did until I couldn't any more before Christmas, and I'll be back as soon as I can. I just didn't think the argument you were putting forward there was the best, that's all.

True mate. So is positivity, and sometimes, no matter how how hard, you have to create your own and similarly, consume your own smoke

Jobs are necessary so should those on hospitality use that excuse not to pay bills or fall behind on payments?
