Bolton Keeper

Accrington player knocked a clearance from his own half into the air… another Accrington lad went after it along with a Bolton defender.

The Bolton keeper came out of his box even though the defender was clearly in the better position to deal with it and went to head it but smashed into the Accrington lad instead and knocked him out cold

Game stopped for 10 mins to stabilise him
 
Crikey sounds bad! Hopefully the lad is ok.

Pope did that a few weeks ago up at Sid James and went unpunished. I always think it's pretty wreckless and needs to be punished accordingly.

Being a keeper is a thankless task but you’re right these almost suicidal attempts at clearances outside the box do seem to be increasing
 
Thankfully the commentators said that the lad remained conscious throughout (and the keeper only received a booking!).
 
Watched it on Twitter. Looks like he might have lead with his elbow. Hard to tell. Definitely sparko though. Surprised he only got a yellow. On loan from Man City the keeper incidentally. Plus he's called Trafford. Unfortunate name for a Citeh player. Maybe that's why he's got so much built up anger inside him
 
I just went looking for footage on twitter but realised who it was, Liam Coyle who got taken out is a mates son, he is a mad Liverpool fan who came through the Liverpool Academy. I hope he is ok even on twitter they mentioned the road to recovery. His dad Baz is a massive Man Utd fan and a manc, he was a bloody good footballer himself he would have been there tonight.
