Thought he was poor 1st half vs Barnsley and grew into the game, but today I thought he had an overall good game.

Thought he coped well against Meite and seemed more confident going forward. Was good to see him make that overlapping run 2nd half when Johnson played the ball down the line and their defender cleared it.

Not his biggest fan yet but he has time to win me on side. I agree he looked better with Johnson in front of him so he may give us the option to play 4321 which we will need to do on occasions this season so that’s good. I think if we are playing wing backs though I would prefer Johnson or Coulson in that role.

Yeah, think Bola is our best option for LB and Coulson and Johnson are better options for LWB.

I hope he becomes a decent player for us. Seems as though physically hes good and tidy enough with the ball just needs experience with his decisions and positioning at times and really needs to sort his crossing out but all things that can be improved with time. If he comes on well and Diksteel keeps it up it shows there are bargains to be found a level down if you scout well instead of spending a fortune.

I must admit, after I saw him last season I didn’t really see a footballer there. He is definitely improving. Could have had a torrid time today v meite but they had to switch sides in the first half as he was getting little joy. Still has indifferent delivery into the box but looks like he can defend now. I think he is only going to get better under the current coaching set up.

Can't say that you have to knock our recruitment team. Have you not read the board rules.:geek::unsure:;)(y)

All you can ask of a young player, is that they steadily improve.

I think Bola is keeping his side of the bargain currently.

I think he was probably given a big kick up the bum in the summer, and that plus the fact that the position was there for grabs has done it.
He is in there now for as long as HE wants it.

He did well yesterday and even looked better going forward. I think it's his place to lose👍

I just think we have an actual manager and coaching staff that are making players better. Warnock / Jepson and Blackwell or Woody and Keane.... No contest😂

Plenty seem to advocate finding 'uncut gems' from the lower leagues, but that requires patience too. Rarely will these players be the finished product
Exactly that.
It was mentioned at the time that buying players from the lower divisions wouldn't be an instant fix, but players hopefully with the potential to improve.

Did ok going forward yesterday and I am much more confident in him defensively than either Johnson or Coulson. As someone else said it's his place to lose now.

The main problem with Bola was the players in front of him. He was continually up against 2 or 3 players with no support. You could have stuck maldini in woodgates team and he would look rubbish. No one tracked back. He was left bereft of confidence and never got back in.

He looked a bit lost and out of his depth when he played last season. But this season is looking more confident and assured. He's not the younger version of George Friend yet, but hopefully will improve as the season progresses.

defnesively he did well enough, stayed on his feet delayed Meite and denied him space to attack into. Attacking I thought he showed limitations. HE isn't particularly good on the ball. He tends to take the easy backwards option far too often.
