I was surprised (I have no idea why) reading the flood thread that some people had religion. I have the odd elderly aunt who does, but I'm in my mid forties and none of my friends or co-workers seem to be religious at all.

So I was just wondering what the boards religious make up was?

I worked for Game many years ago... always made me laugh how many reward card customers had Jedi as their religious denomination.... we had that many I would guess it made up 30% of the total.

Brought up Catholic but as I'm getting older, I find myself really struggling with the concept of the story of Jesus et al (half expecting to be struck by lightening from above as punishment for the admission!)

I've definitely leaned more towards a more spiritual attitude in things like universal energies and the balance of things. Probably a more scientific perspective rather than religious, although ironically I still think prayer is very powerful as a positive affirmation rather than specifically thinking Jesus will answer your prayers. One thing is for sure though, no-one is right or wrong!

I’m not religious at all, quite anti a lot of it really but I find it fascinating and I do love a good church/cathedral/place of worship.

was brought up CofE Christian, and have been confirmed, but that was 30 years ago, I don't really practice any form of religion now. I'd sing a hymn at a wedding or Christmas service or something like that, but I'm not religious per se. Although I did have to sort of say I was a bit to get married in a church (wife's wishes more so than mine) and also to become a god parent

My entire family is atheist but we do like a good Carol service. Last year our local church told the nativity story as if it happened today. Joseph was not a happy man. The bringing up to date made the story relevant and funny.

I'm odd in that I'm atheist but I've lived in Italy and loved the community in the little town around the church. There was a sense of belonging, togetherness, lots of festivals and celebrations. Lots of people knew each other, the town square around the church was the centre of the community. I love the idea of all of that. Just not the baby Jesus and ten commandments stuff.

I do often wonder if a modern religion was started that was mental, or a cult scam how it would do.

Just be kind to each other, help out in your community, don't be a d*ck. All meet up a couple of times a week for a bit of wine and a sing song, sounds great. Just miss the burning in Hell for eternity for being gay or eating meat on Friday.

Most of my enjoyment of being around a religious community has been throughly removed from me after spending quite a while in Texas though.
