calculated to be the most depressing day of the year..

Forss is back and he scored
We’re in the league cup semi final
O’Brien is back from injury
Azaz looks class
Ayling.. who would have thought?
Sunderland.. laugh after laugh
Engel is the real deal
BARLASER is actually quite good isnt he!
Glover.. holy cow! Doing the business!
Clarke is like a new signing
More is yet to come.. much more!! UTB!!

Jan after the 5th is normally dreary for me for the whole month but the fact we had that semi first leg to look fwd to was brill. The fact we came out with a lead was more brill. Which for me has made the days since then buzzing The Millwall away win coming from behind has only added to it . I woudn't say i'm dancing about , in this cold, but can't remember a mid Jan where felt expectant/positive/ non blues (y)

It doesn’t half help! 100% convinced that we should sing Diallo now on loan purely for the bants!

thought you were going to say - one of the most influential / totemic records ever, way ahead of it's time - 1983...

And a complete accident. According to Stephen Morris the original version of Blue Monday sounds absolutely nothing like the final version as the sequencer crashed and it was unrecoverable.

The melody coming in off beat was also an accident, Gillian messed up inputting the sequencer code but they liked how it sounded so it stayed in.

And the band absolutely hate the song, it was literally produced as a "**** you" to fans who demanded encores (which New Order famously didn't do at the time) as the idea was they could come back on stage, press a button to play the song, then leave.

I also used to love Blue Monday but now I can't stand it, despite owning at least 8 different pressings of it, including a first pressing and a super rare misprinted German 2nd pressing.

The Perfect Kiss is a much more complete NO track but if we're talking songs from PCL that are better than Blue Monday (afterall, Blue Monday wasn't on the album) then Ecstacy is definitely up there (in my head it's sort of a proto-Blue Monday.)
