Blimey it’s getting warm

When its really hot during the day i always close my curtains and windows to keep the heat out. I see a lot of folk opening the window during the day thinking it will cool you down but all you are doing is letting hot air outside enter your home and increase its temperature. Only open the window in the evening when its cooler.

Also, a neat trick is to place a bowl of ice in front of a fan and as the ice melts it blows cold air round your home.

Yeah it wasn't pleasant walking into the kitchen at work this morning for the breakfast shift. It was already 30°c in there and that was before I turned the grill, hot tops and fryer on. Escaped for a couple of hours now, a cold shower and, then back into the sweatbox for evening service tonight.

You should worry spent all day in a substation, the conditions were 'difficult'. The aircon was just a bit too effective so occasionally had to pop outside to warm up. ❄️:giggle:

Now back home and wish I was still in the substation, lovely end to the day though.

6 hours out in the garden today, stupid me forgot to re-apply the sunscreen so I'm a tad red.

Blonde haired and blue eyed, you can imagine I'm a bit crispy right now :) And its only going to get hotter !

I haven't had any kind of exercise today, but it feels like I've rubbed butter all over my body. I'd take a shower, but I currently have the energy of a dead sloth.

I remember working in No. 4 Depot at Wilton in the summer. No windows, no ventilation, no air-con; nothing.

Did a mountain race in N Ireland yesterday, during the hottest day ever in N Ireland, over 30 degrees, not the the smartest thing I have done nearly killed me, fortunately there was a couple of river crossings to take a dip in to cool down
