Blatter admits Qatar is a mistake

Far too little, too late of course.

Also doesn't make enough acknowledgement of his own role in the process, or really retract his own comments in defence of the decision at the time.

No acknowledgement of potential corruption, buti can't say I'm surprised at that.

Erm.. they could totally still move it.

Well Blatter has no power any more, so his admission makes no difference regarding venues at this time.

I don't think you could move it at this time really. You'd have to respect the schedule because that's been messed up too much already. The leagues will not suddenly restructure their seasons and have a tournament in the Summer.

You could just scrap the tournament, which might get more support than Ive thought possible before.

An even if we said, let's just hold it in England because we've got the stadia, there's more to organizing it than that. There is, for example, a massive policing operation that would need to be put in place, and that can't be done in a fortnight.

The idea of an England world cup in November has appeal: let's see how Brazil do on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke.

Am sure Brazil would handle that just fine - how many Brazilians have played in English football through winters?

Contracts signed and sealed years ago I’m afraid so any form of rebellion could have only come from the fans and as we know there’s plenty of naysayers who will always deny wrongdoing.

even worse though
"Thanks to the four votes of Platini and his [Uefa] team, the World Cup went to Qatar rather than the United States. It's the truth."

How can the huge "foot"balling nation of America be awarded it again is beyond me!. Even favourites for 2026!! WTF

Surely there aren't any amongst the England supporters who are anti gay and couldn't give a toss about foreigners?

I assume Blatter's sudden admission has nothing to do with this documentary airing on NETFLIX. I don't have Netflix so can't watch it.

>> Although it drags in its overdetailed final episode and could have been trimmed from four hours to three, Fifa Uncovered for the most part is a queasily thrilling chronicle of allegations and fishy coincidences, with cash appearing in brown envelopes when a big vote is taking place, and disappearing when it ought to be going to worthy development projects. The brazen wrongdoing of some of the individuals involved gives the programme the addictive repulsiveness of a true-crime documentary. <<
