Blackburn v Middlesbrough - OFFICIAL THREAD

I'm really pleased with that. The most dominant a Boro team has been in a long time.

I felt Britt linked up the best he has all season without looking like scoring.

Jed is close to being great... But that end product is not there yet... And at times he looks terrible.

Whole back four superb.

Saville and howson are both on their best Boro form.

I know we could have won, but fair play to Blackburn's defence holding out against a barrage.

For Fry's size he doesn't cause many issues from set pieces, he needs to channel his inner Ayala and attack the ball a bit more rather than standing and hoping it hits his head
I agree but he was being grappled in the box a lot. On another day he may have nicked a foul/pen. I would have had a word in the ear of the ref.

Why do Boro's shots manage to pick out row Z time after time, but can't hit the big white thing at the end of the pitch?

It's like there's an invisible force field repelling shots away.
I wonder if they actually do any shooting practice? I would give McNair the free kicks.

Mogga claimed it was a boring match! Admitted they didn't show what they could do, but to claim it was boring., he must have been cra+++ng himself.

Despite the dominance Blackburn created the best scoring opportunity. I am cool with a point in truth. I think Warnock is managing the squad to keep us tight in the hope that reinforcements can come in early January. Robert's has a hamstring issue that clearly needs careful management. If we can somehow get a point on Saturday It will have been a fair week.

We need to remember the squad size and how far we have come since Warnock was brought in. I am still grateful we are not playing the likes of MK Dons tbh.

We need to kill teams off - these are the type of matches which are the difference between automatic promotion and playoffs.... but in a bigger picture, we're doing amazing compared to previous years

We are on the right lines.

20 Boro chances to Blackburn's 5 - I remember going with AK to Blackburn a couple of times and we never had stats like that.

Not so sure I agree with this.

Their player was a foot away from reaching the ball with their wasted chance, we missed 3-4 free headers on goal, both Assombalonga and Fry really should have scored amd both fully connected with the ball.

Thats fine, you are allowed to disagree 😉

It was not the fact that the player was a foot away for me, it was the pass itself. They had 2 players that could have scored and should have perhaps if the ball was hit with a smidgen less pace.
Britts was just slightly too high imho, Fry could and should have done better but neither were as decent a chance for me. Opinions eh 👍

The player at the back stick may have been a foot away but the one at the front post was only millimetres away - in fact looking at the replays it may have just grazed the underside of his boot.
