Blackadder: The Lost Pilot

Showing on Gold the last couple of days. Well worth a watch if you're a fan of the series.

Of course comedy is all subjective but I watched it earlier and thought it was dull ponderous and largely rubbish. Interesting though how the black adder character in the pilot and the first series was so different and they reverted back to the character from the pilot for the second series.

It was quite interesting to see Alex Norton playing a comedy role. His part in Taggert was that of rough grouse like copper.
I kept waiting for John Savident (Fred Elliott in Corrie) to say in his brash foghorn leghorn East Lancs accent ‘Ashley’

Loved it. Shows how wrong they got it with the first series… no one seems to know why they changed the character which amazed me… either that or they don’t want to own up to it.

First series is probably the best. Wonderfully different. Watched some of it last week. The brilliant Frank Findlay as the Witchsmeller General

Changed because from Series 2 Ben Elton started to write the scripts with Curtis. Curtis wrote series 1 on his own with help from Rowan Atkinson.

He's been in a couple of Scottish comedies, Two Doors Down and Bob Servant (with Brian 'Fk Off' Cox in the title role).
