Black Mirror

New season out, Boro boy Jack Bandeira featuring in one of the episodes 👍🏻

There's a couple of other Boro connections in Black Mirror with both Faye Marsay and Monica Dolan featuring in other episodes.

I watched Demon 79 and Joan is Awful last night, and really enjoyed both. Got halfway through the second episode buta sick baby meant we needed to pause it halfway through...

Joann is awful - decent
Loch Henry - decent
Beyond the sea - great
Mazey day - bit crap
Demon 79 - decent

Most black mirror episodes have a theme that makes me think about society etc but other than paparazzi invading privacy I felt mazey day was such a total departure from black mirror.

Demon79 was too but felt like that had a stronger story to support it. Although if anyone has seen Knock at the Cabin movie, I felt like it has a very similar theme to that.

These are the IMDb ratings

In Demon 79 was she mad and a psycho and the Apocalypse was coincidence or was it a horror story about a Demon?

Loch Henry was the best for me

Feel like the left the door open for the son to be part of it.

Triggered me a little as my mam hanged herself and her first three letters on her note were ‘for’

I actually called it early on too about the vhs containing material

I hope you are OK. Fiction can trigger some really difficult things to consider even when the author had no intent.

Ye I’m ok now. It was only a slight trigger.

I’ve had some major triggers in the past.
Funnily enough it was ‘the whale’ which triggered a new feeling/thoughts inside me recently. Was weird that

that is an immensely difficult film. Wouldn't have watched it if it wasn't Aronofsky as I thought it would be mawkish. Couldn't have been more wrong. For me it's his best work since the first two

it's about society demonising a racial minority in a country whilst opening an apocalyptic future of Right Wing nutjobs
I thought it was a 1979 take on radicalization where the demon was the Internet.

It didn't matter whether the demon was real or not, in the same way people believe what they read on the Internet and fail to question it as goggles and other algorithms isolate the user in a bubble of nonsense.
